Nightwish je finská metalová kapela.
Skupina vznikla v roce 1996. Tuomas Holopainen, operní zpěvačka Tarja Turunen a kytarista Erno Vuorinen společně nahráli demo, které podle první písně pojmenovali „Nightwish“.Poté se sestava rozšířila o bubeníka Lorda Juliuse "Jukku" Nevalainena a baskytaristu Samiho Vänsku. Samiho po pár letech nahradil Marco Hietala. Namísto Tarji, která byla nakonec (r. 2005) z kapely vyloučena, byla v květnu 2007 oznámena nová zpěvačka, Švédka Anette Olzon
